A Delay Reduction Multicast Routing Protocol for Group-shared Ad Hoc Network

چکیده
Mobile ad hoc network is a wireless mobile network that does not have any base station or other central control infrastructures. Design of efficient multicast routing protocols in such networks is challenging. Shared tree routing protocol is a widely used multicast routing protocol in ad hoc network. However, it has problems encountered in end-to-end delay. In this paper we have proposed a protocol as an extension of the existing multicast Ad hoc On-demand Distance Vector (MAODV) routing to improve the inherent problem of large end-to-end delay in shared tree method. Our protocol is referred to as Delay reduction multicast routing protocol (DRMRP). The protocol uses n-hop local ring search to establish new forwarding path and limit the scope of flooding. With this mechanism simulation results demonstrate excellent reduction of average end-to-end delay as well as high packet delivery ratio.

A Modified Shared-tree Multicast Routing Protocol in Ad Hoc Network
A mobile ad hoc network is a wireless mobile network that does not have any base station or other central control infrastructure. Design of efficient multicast routing protocols in such a network is challenging, especially when the mobile hosts move rapidly. Shared-tree routing protocol is a widely used multicast routing protocol in ad hoc networks. However, this protocol is deficient in terms ...
متن کاملEfficient Resource Management for Multicast Ad Hoc Networks: Survey
Group communication over multicast ad hoc network suffers from insufficient utilization of limited resources, i.e. shared channel, battery, data processing capabilities and storage space etc. Multicast routing protocol should be able to manage all these resources because their consumption depends upon different factors, i.e. Unicast/Multicast network operations, dynamic topology due to mobility...
متن کاملImproving Quality of Service Routing in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks Using OLSR
Mobile ad hoc networks (MANET) are constructed by mobile nodes without access point. Since MANET has certain constraints, including power shortages, an unstable wireless environment and node mobility, more power-efficient and reliable routing protocols are needed. The OLSR protocol is an optimization of the classical link state algorithm. OLSR introduces an interesting concept, the multipoint r...

Today, one of the new technologies in the modern era is Vehicular Ad-hoc Network which has takenenormous attention in the recent years. Because of rapid topology changing and frequent disconnectionmakes it difficult to design an efficient routing protocol for routing data between vehicles, called V2V orvehicle to vehicle communication and vehicle to roadside infrastructure, called V2I. An important and essential issue for multicast mobile ad-hoc networks (MANETs) is routing protocol design i.e. a major technical challenge due to the dynamism of the network. Mobile Ad-Hoc Network (MANET) is a dynamic, multi-hop and autonomous network composed of light wireless mobile nodes. A lot of control messages are required to build optimal multicast trees and maintaining group membership...
